Essay response

I liked the book and I didn’t like it

Have you ever loved a book but you wish you could change some things? In the novel, Day of the Ginni Worriers by P.B. Kerr, there were some parts that I liked, but there were some parts I didn’t like. Sometimes in the book I just wanted to rip the page out because the writing was so bad. Other times I wanted to show all of my friends on how the author did a really good job. My book is well written but it has some confusing parts in it.

I liked some parts of the book because at times I wouldn’t want to put the book down. On page 145 the author put this sentence that really caught my attention “And, as usual, the evil Ginni was planning something suitably horrible”. The author also made interesting chapters like “Miracle on Madison Avenue” on page 43. That chapter and the sentence had action and excitement in it which I liked. So, that was why I wanted to read more because it sounded so mysterious and, I wanted to know how bad the Ginni's plan was. That is what I liked about the book.

Even though there were good parts in the book, unfortunately there were some bad parts in the book that were really boring. Like the chapter “The Magic Square” on page 316 I just wish there was more information. The author didn’t really describe what a magic square was. He also didn’t really have any action at all in that chapter. In other times, the author made the novel confusing because he would switch to another character in the book too quickly. So, just when started to get excited about one character in the book, he would switch to another character. If the author made some of those errors, that would’ve made the book a lot better.

It is clear that the book is has good parts but, some parts could use a little work on. In the novel, the author’s main point was trying to say is be careful what you wish for and, you always don’t get what you want. That is what I liked about the book and what I don’t like about it.
