Have you ever read a book that was really confusing? In the book, The Eye of the Forest by P.B. Kerr, I found the book really confusing it was so hard to follow. I wanted to go to the author and tell him to redo the book it was so confusing. I bet even the author was confused when he was writing the book. This book wasn't really that great, but there were some good parts.
The book was so confusing because the plot went from a haunted mansion to the Amazon in Brazil. I was thinking in my head, “Whoa! What just happened?” During the book on page 25, the main characters, John and Philippa, were in the haunted mansion. So I was getting little excited because maybe something exciting was going to happen. After that, on page 70, they were on quest to Brazil! When I was getting use to this quest that the main characters were on, one of these main characters, Philippa, suddenly found gold slippers that smelled like strawberries. The most confusing part was that when Philipppa stomped when she had the shoes on, whatever that she was thinking would happen. I wouldn’t recommend this book to read.
Even though the book was too confusing, there were some good parts in the book. What made the book more exciting is that there were a lot of scarier parts at the end of a chapter. On page 209 the ending was, “For one sickening, heart- stopping moment Philippa, one of the main characters, hung in the air above the pit, instead of being blasted all the way up the shaft. Then she started to fall”. After that I found in the book that one of the other main characters, Mr. Rakshasas, which supposedly died didn’t on page 407, and started to talk to a character, Dybbuk, in the book. That’s want really made me read more because I was so excited that Mr. Rakshasas didn’t die.
The book was so confusing to me that I wouldn’t advise anyone to read this book. Even though the book was so confusing, I still got the main moral of the story. The main lesson is to always have faith in your friends. John and Philippa though had to learn their lesson the hard way. I just wish the book wasn’t so confusing for me because I really like the series so far.
